Quebec Immigration

Overview:

Unlike other provinces or territories in Canada, Quebec has significant autonomy in immigration matters. Since establishing its own immigration ministry in 1968, Quebec has played an active role in selecting skilled workers for immigration to maintain its Francophone character.

Quebec selects immigrants based on its own criteria, issuing them a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ). With the CSQ, applicants can proceed to apply for permanent residence with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada .

The programs currently available in Quebec including:

  • Regular Skilled Worker Program
  • Quebec Experience Program
  • Permanent Residence Pilot Program
  • Quebec Business Immigration Program

Program Summary: As Quebec differs significantly from other provinces and territories, applicants should initially check the Quebec government’s website for comprehensive information. Given the recent rise in French language prerequisites in Quebec, it’s crucial for applicants interested in the Quebec program to possess the necessary French language proficiency.
