  Can international students work in Canada while studying?

  I am a full-time college student currently holding a study permit in Canada. Can I work off-campus now?

  You can work off campus as an international student if you meet all the following requirements:

  • You’re a full-time student at a designated learning institution.
  • You’re enrolled in a post-secondary program and your program is at least 6 months long that leads to a degree, diploma or certificate.

  You can begin working only after you have started your program. Additionally, you must apply for a Social Insurance Number (SIN) before you start working.
